For getting along with the kids, to prevent fights about rules like cleaning up before bedtime, make sure to warn them in advance. Example: "In ten minutes, you need to be ready to get your pajamas on." It stops temper tantrums about "just five more minutes". If a child wants to break a rule or do something dangerous such as jump off the countertop, give them a choice. Ask them if they want to be helped down or if they can climb down by themselves safely. This gives them some decision-making. For cases of "my mom lets me do that", offer an alternative - instead of watching TV until midnight, read their favorite story before an earlier bedtime. Check the rules when mom actually gets home.
P.S. William E Funkenhouser, "O.K." IS an acronym. In the olden days, people thought it was fun to misspell words and abbreviate them - therefore, the phrase was "oll korrect".

Ask the kids what they like doing (e.g. playing hide and seek, reading...), and do it with them (play with themm hide and seek or read them a story). If what they like doing is something that isn't very nice or very safe, recommend another game, just be sure it is something that kids will appreciate (the kids may not be as smart, or can tolerate as much physical activity as you can).
Make snack time fun by cutting out toast in the shape of clouds or their favorite cartoon characters. Let them know that you're their friend. Always be patient with them and never scold them too hard, because that will make them not like you as much. Ask the kids, they decide.

Keep them engaged in activities. If they are always busy, then you don't have to worry about them liking you, they will probably like you for playing with them. =) Make sure though you don't just sit them down in front of the tv...play games! I taught my 5 year old cousin to play UNO and he picked it up really quick and loved it. Now whenever I go over we have to play that game. =) Good luck and have fun!

Why did you put periods after the O and the K? They don't stand for seperate words. Ok is not an acronym.
