I personally think that this country needs to stay away form the world and focus on our own problems.I don't care if Isreal and Lebanon want to kill each other.Schools in Oakland, Dertroit, New York, and DC need to be funded. And the government needs to put up more homeless shelters and places for battered women and children. What is you opinion?

You didn't have to get rude. And don't call me uneducated.

Isolationism was not the answer back then and it cannot be an answer in nowaday's complex geopolitical game.

Not isolationism, but self healing.

America has given its post-war business model to the world and in the last years it has suffered as much from globalization as any other smaller countries. It couldn't afford to remove itself from the intricate net of connections with other government's policies and economies.

America needs to manufacture its own future again, not have it shipped from Asia. "Proudly made in America" anyone?

Tax money should have been spent on solving internal problems, keeping empolyment within America instead of allowing multinationals to manufacture where it is cheaper. Instead, the current American government has been signing cheques willy-nilly to produce armament and that doesn't put food on the average table.

The world got used to having the American military might at hand to stop countries from thinking about armed conflict, but when they discovered that one can still kill soldiers in tanks with stones things got really really complicated.

We have worldwide military institutions to fight wars. They should be used instead of making America foot the bill.

I could go on and on but my food is burning. I'll save the world another day.

Last quip. Just because an ostrich hides its head in the sand, doesn't make its enemies go away. It simply can't see who swipes at its behind.

Isolation would kill America.

You really need to get a lot more education about economics, education, and foreign governments before you make another stupid proposal like that again!

The schools in Oakland, Detroit, New York, and DC ARE FUNDED, quite adequately, thank you very much! And should not be given a dime more.

It would be better for the students there if they started applying themselves to their studies far more than they are doing now. You and your fellow students are far too ignorant to be of ANY help in dealing with major issues.

Work on cleaning up your schools, eliminating gang and fights, eliminate premarital sex and let the girls who have children out of wedlock know that they embarrass you and that they are not YOUR role model, clean up your behavior, listen to your teachers, and obey a decent dress code, read your texts and do your homework instead of simply copying someone else's work who did have a date last night.

AFTER and ONLY after you graduate from a four year college will you have any credibility to ask serious questions. Basing foreign policy on ignorance is the receipe for a disaster. No one, I repeat, NO ONE should pay any attention to your whine about retreating back into the womb! Absolute Idiot!

"Conservative" is nothing more than a cluster of opinions. It's not a universal perspective. It's just a categorization of a person with particular opinions.

If you are a religious right wing, you are a conservative.
If you are a non-religious left-wing, you are liberal.
If you are a non-religious right wing or a religious left wing, you are an anomaly.

Conservatives are religious by definition. And religion is anti-homosexual by definition..

Isolation sounds great, to focus on our selves for a while
BUT,it is also the path to war.when AMERICA isn't actively involved in the world there is a power vaccum.
which is useually filled by a hostile nation.
