Hold a burning stick to your eye, and smoke it.

The smokey eye is created by a dark color.. You color from the outside corner in and on the very inside of your lid closest to the bridge of your nose, put a silver or other light color to compliment your eyes..I use a dark grey or charcoal shadow for the darkness and a silver pencil to compliment. I have light skin tones so I find that black is too severe. Underneath the eye get a matching eye pencil and run it along the edge and then blend it in with a q-tip or foam applicator. Across the top of your lid, put a nice shimmer if you have small eyes and want a larger look or put a matte finish if you have larger eyes and dont want them to appear too big.
Make sure you blend everything otherwise you will end up with a deer in the headlights look. If you can afford it, some nice single application lashes can be applied ( which is what most of the stars use) you glue them on one strand at a time only on the outer edges.
Dont use your fingers around your eyes. A; They carry bacteria and b: your fingers have oils on them that get into the eyes and can cause irritation.

Don't panic until it's done. I always think mine looks stupid until it's finished. It's really simple. Do you have oily skin? I do, and I find the best black eyeshadow that doesn't melt off for me is the Sonya Kashuk eye shadow in the color Night. You can buy that at Target for like 5 bucks, it's good stuff. Here is what I do, and I like my eyes to look a little catty, so what I do it put a base shadow on, I have one that is like a tan color. Apply that to the whole lid, then draw on your eye liner. I use black, you should do the same. I draw wings out too. Then, I apply the black shadow to my crease, then fill in the rest. You need good brushes to do this, after that, all the crasy eye shadow is easy. But, if you want it black black, and not as smokey, do a wet application.

I am a costumer and recently outfitted the musical, The Boyfriend, which takes place in the 1920's. All the women had smokey eyelids. We achieved that look using mascara as the eye shadow. Using your finger, dab a bit of mascara on your lid. Quickly rub it until your lid is covered. A liner pencil works best on the lower lid..unless you've got really skinny fingers. To even make it stand out more, line the top of your lid with a grey or blue pencil. Don't forget the deep lipstick.

One way: put some dark grey shadow on your eye and with a bigger brush make round circules and diffuminate it. Then with the same brush run from the lower inside of your eye towards the outside.

Another way: with a pencil eye liner make a thick line right on top of your eyelashes and below the bottom lashes of your eye. Then with a square brush, and pressing a bit, diffuminate the black lines on top of your eyes and the bottom as well. MAking circles.

TIP: if the bottom gets too thick, use a cooton swab with a bit of water and clean the excess.

Smokey eyeshadow is only surely dark hues which you employ on your eyes. To create the smokey eyed look i could use a grey coloration interior the corner of your eye and then a darker coloration like a darker gray or a verging on black coloration. After utilized with a broom sparkling the comb and combine the two hues into one yet another. wish this facilitates =)

get a dark grey eyeliner and eyeshadow, as well as a shimmery (pale) silver or white eyeshadow and a feathering brush. Apply the dark grey eyeliner to your top lid, and blend it upward with the brush. Then add a little of the dark grey eyeshadow and blend it in towards your nose...you want to keep most of the darkness on the outside of your eye. Blend the crease with the pale, shimmery eyeshadow, and VOILA! :]

Purchase some black shadow and gun metal shadow......line your eyes with black liner (on the inside) and carefully apply the black shadow to your lids only, then apply the gun metal shadow to the crease of your eye and blend up until it fades into a light grey, apply mascara......voila smoky eyes!

Use a charcoal gray color eyeliner...smudge the line. For eyeshadow also go with gray/slate tones. Put a lighter shade all over up to your brow bone, and use a darker tone in just the crease of your eye...then blend the two together.

Use dark eye shadow and apply a thick layer. The use a q-tip or finger and smudge it as much as you want. Make sure to do it all around your eye.

Good luck
