It's a double-edged question. I think you mean, which part of the world is most volcanically active?

Yes, Stromboli and Kilauea erupt all the time, but in reality they just "dribble" and nobody need be afraid of them. There are killer volcanoes in the Pacific ring and Indonesian islands that may not be erupting at the moment, but have the potential to erupt explosivily at any time, like Mt St Helens, Pinatubo and Krakatau have done in the past. So, I think this is what you were getting at.

In the Ring of Fire (the Pacific Rim). The most active portions of that include Indonesia, where tectonic plates are slamming into each other; the Kamchatka Peninsula in eastern Siberia across from Alaska; Mexico/Central America; and possibly the Philippines, where there's a situation simiilar to Indonesia.

The most active volcanos in the world are found where tectonic plates meet (commonly called the "ring of fire"). Tectonic plates are what the continents "sit" on. The plates are constantly moving and rubbing against each other. The plates themselves glide on the molten magma beneath the earth's crust. When plates rub they sometimes cause earthquakes. The San Andreas fault in California is where two plates are rubbing against each other.

Last I knew Italy (Stromboli) and Hawaii both have almost continuously active volcanoes. Region wise i would agree the "Ring of Fire" with Alaska and the Kamchatka peninsula good sub regions.

Probably on the Pacific rim. One volcano (Kilauea) on the big island of Hawaii has been erupting for years.
