according to my pregnancy books, you should NOT get a tattoo or piercing while pregnant.

Unless you've absolutely got to get an emergency tattoo, I recommend postponing it until after your delivery.

There is a risk of infection in tattooing and the possibility of an allergic reaction to certain dyes. I don't know how they might affect your pregnancy, but you should ask your M.D.

If you decide to get a tatto anyway, insist that your tattoo artist uses only new needles!! Re-used needles increase your risk of contracting AIDS and passing it on to your baby.

No how much your tattoo artist insists that she or he sterilizes their needles, do you really want to take their word when it comes to your safety and that of your baby? You risk the long term consequences, while they go home with your money in their pockets.

Um I honestly don't know if you can. You probably (PROBABLY, not fact) could get one on like your ankle or something. NOT near your belly!! Even if it WERE okay to get it on your belly (which I really doubt it is), It would be all loose after you have the baby or it'll get stretched out during the rest of your pregnancy. Just wait till after the baby for a tattoo.

If it's not in your budget, don't do it. You need that money for diapers, etc.
