Having trouble dealing with a girl I like - we work on the same floor - please read my situation below...?

So I like this girl at work, we hooked up after the holiday office party, ever since then...NOTHING. But I'd say we are close friends regardless, she knows I like her but like I said, nothing has happened since the party. My whole thing is I have to deal with seeing her everyday, not that I don't want to, but sometimes I'll hear about a date she went on or her gossiping about something and I'll think she is talking about another dude. I try not to get jealous but I have to deal with this everyday! It's really hard hearing about what she does outside of work b/c it never includes me. Even though I said we are close, sometimes it feels like we aren't. She almost never calls me or comes to visit where I'm sitting, but on the other hand she was the one that organized and threw my last birthday party. So basically I'm really confused with the whole situation. If I didn't have to see her everyday it would be so much easier. I don't know what to do, I don't know how to handle this.

You have to know where you stand to know what to do:

1) Stop initiating contact. Live your life happy, and just try to avoid listening to her talking about other guys.

She'll either come find you to talk, in which case you play it cool...don't ask her out or joke around or flirt. Then she will probably become more interested, and come to talk to you more.

OR

She won't come talk to you at all - lol - in which case she is done with you...and the only solution is to find a new job if you cannot deal with seeing her daily.

First of all, never mix pleasure with work. It sounds alot like a one night stand, she doesn't see you as boyfriend material. She may see you as a friend, but it sounds like that's all she's interested in. If seeing her everyday is hard, either find a way to deal with it, or find another job. sorry.
