I would definite fantasize about keeping it.

I love the question.

I think that I would turn it in though ... but then again ...

What this guy said:

"my impulse would be to keep it. However, knowing that it would be wrong, I would search for some other way to compensate myself prior to turning it in. For instance, I might ask if there was a reward for the return of the money. If there wasn't a reward, I would wait until there was one prior to turning it in. Good Luck"

but if you're going for best answer, don't pick me, I just wanted my two points.

Call the police and take them to the money - I wouldn't want to destroy any evidence.
Oh, and I was taught right from wrong when I was little, and I don't think whether or not anybody saw me made a difference in whether it was right or wrong.
Sheesh - THIS is part of what's wrong with the world today. Not is it right or wrong, but can I get away with it without being caught!

I would keep it if it was a lot of money for a few reasons...If you turned it in all you would get it your name on the news (yah that cool jk), all money in banks is insured threw the FDIC so the bank and its customers would all get there money back and it would be a chance for a better life for me without hurting anyone.

In all honesty, I would be sorely tempted to keep it. I think I might pick it up and sit on it for a long time before I spent it. Slowly trickle it in to my bank account. Dunno though. My conscious might get in the way though, cause I tend to do the right thing even when it's not the easiest choice.
