The new tattoo is on my wrist and was/is the most painful of my three. The discharge isn't thick or anything; it looks like what would come out of a blister you'd get on your foot. I have two on my back, and those were only sore for the first day. They itched and scabbed, and eventually flaked during the first week and a half or so... I'm really worried that my new one will end up infected if it already isn't. I'm not worried that the equipment wasn't sterile, as I watched the artist set up. And I'm not worried about his qualifications, because my fiance and friends have used this artist for years... and as a matter of fact, the huge tattoo my fiance got on his forearm an hour before mine is just fine! Could it possibly be the fact that the inside of a wrist is a very tender place? I'm making sure to wash it with antibacterial soap and cool water, and I'm keeping it moist with the Ink Fixx lotion we bought from the facility. Any other ideas to help it heal?

Wrist are a bad spot for tattoo's. Friend of mine has both of his done and had same trouble your having. Use the care instructions the artist gave you and watch it carefully.Don't worry about fading and such, that's what touch up's are for.If it doesn't clear up call the artist who worked on you and let them see what it's doing. Then they can tell you what to do after that. But most off all since it's new give it a few days.Don't use Neosporin on tatt's sometimes it will draw the color right out of your fresh new tattoo!!!!!!!!!!!

Washing it with the AB soap is going to dry it out too much... don't do that unless you're bleeding and it is infected for sure (yellow discharge). Put A&D ointment on the tatt and do your best to just not pick at it or anything. Your wrist is very difficuilt to keep still, it is likely agitated by your movements. Try to keep your wrist still. If it stays bad more than two more days, go back to tatt parlor and get their recommendation on what you need to do.

I would just ry to keep it clean and a thin coat of antibiotic ointment on it for a day or two more. The one on my wrist got infected but it was be cause I was allergic to the red ink. That could be the case with yours also. If you just keep it clean and try not to scratch it and keep the ointment on it. It should be fine.

I used A&D ointment on mine ( you can find it in the diaper section at the store or by the lotions). It worked great.I would suggest using some of it. It might really work for you. Whatever you do don't use vasaline it will draw the ink out.

My second tattoo on my back leaked for 2 days after I got it... some colours run a little more then others... Try useing A&D ointment... and if it doesn't stop by tomorrow go back to your artist.

It sounds like it might be starting to get infected since it is draining. Get some Neosporin and keep it covered. It might just be in a bad place, but the draining thing sort of makes me wonder.

Oh, that sounds awful! :[

I hate to tell you this, but it sounds infected. You need to call your doctor immediately, because if you don't get it taken care of professionally, it's going to get worse. If the outside heals, trapping the infection inside your body, you're going to end up with an abscess. Yikes!

Check the source and check your symptoms, and if it turns out you need to go to a doctor, go. This isn't something to mess around with!
