Just watching too much Pirate stuff ... but it seem that the pilliaging bonded the Pirates closer with their code of honor.

Ooo .. then there's the movie, "I know what you did last summer" and they all bonded.

Ever hear of the old adage.. "There is no honor among theives"?
I think if I were a pirate I would keep my scurvy mates close just to be sure they weren't planning to send me off the plank and steal my treasure. I also want to add that when police capture co-participants of a crime, they split them up... and they usually always rat each other out for a plea bargain.

Although criminals pay alot of lip service to the underworld code, the reality is that most would sell out a buddy in a heartbeat to avoid hard time.

As for pirates, they have been overly romanticized in movies. They were cut-throats who would kill a friend as soon as an enemy to advance their own riches. The bond between pirates existed mainly on the ocean born out of a need to be able to rely on others, at least temporarily, and a lack of anywhere to run. They were also hunted constantly, and there is definitely safety in numbers.

Initially they do.
if it is a "once of crime" chances are they would start doubting each other, become paranoid and suspicious.
Habitual "partners in crime" might form a strong bond but due to their psychological make-up they would turn on each other without a second thought.

The pirates "code of Honor" is glamorized to a large extend.
There are numerous documented cases of mutinies on Pirate ship.

Yes they do but it's not the crime that causes the strong bond. Rather, it is the shared experience. The same thing happens to soldiers, husbands and wives, or anyone who has been through a trying experience together.

Bonding? That would depend, are they sentenced to the same facility after conviction? Oh, but even if they were - they might be "bonding" with other felons with more prison time/experience--------------
