It depends on what kind of markers they were. If they were India Ink then the ink is permanent and must be sanded off. If the ink is not permanent, then it can be washed and brushed off. best of luck!

Usually the art markers from leather is the silver one from Germany?I thinks it is used worlwide.If it is,simply use petrol/gas for you car,rub with with a piece of plain white cotton cloth gently (applied to Napa leather or any smooth surface grain leather) for any colour,remember gently,since you don't have to give much effort by the gasoline.
But for Suede/Nubuck,I don't dare to recommend anything.It really depends.

Dab a piece of t-shirt material in laquer thinner.

Wrap it around the tips of two fingers.

Rub into area, and watch it dissapear.

Move to clean area of rag as needed,and wet with thinner, and wipe fast, laquer thinner dries quickly.

Try one of those "eraser" sponges. Just wet the corner and rub a little spot. They are miralce workers. Use them all the time!!!
