I feel kind of funny thinking about seeing people I work with in their bathing suits and vise versa.

Well, get over it. Everybody will be there for the same thing, to swim and have a good time. The idea behind a company get-together is to give people a chance to relax and get to know each other in a non-work environment. This can help people work together better. Be a team player and go.

These kinds of events are great for building team comraderie and establishing friendships. If you didn't go, you would miss out on establishing better connections with your coworkers, so go.
Oh..and the caveat, don't get drunk AND don't bring a date unless you know they won't embarrass you.

I think it would be fun to see everyone like that - gives you a new outlook on them - next time they piss you off at work just think about them in their bathingsuit.

well if you think you are going to be creeped out later then dont. Well then again you can just wear a t-shirt and a pair of shirts to avoid aqwardness for you.
