The USA has lost it's credibility, and is losing it's stranglehold on the rest of the world.
Hugo Chavez is a clear example of what can be achieved when countries disregard their orders from Washington:-
Over 17 million people now have access to free health care and medicines for the first time.
Over 1 million people taught to read and write.
Participation encouraged for all Venezuelans in the formation, implementation, and operation of their democracy.
Venezuela has become truly, of the people, by the people and for the people, after years of US intervention and suppression.

But of course the people in power in the USA have labelled Chavez a terrorist, communist, dictator, etc. etc.

Around the world, whenever an alternative political systems have emerged they have been brutally crushed, or isolated by our ruling elites for what they call "the threat of a good example"

There is at last hope for us all, a chance to end inequality, and injustice. :)

I do love it when the people dumb enough to believe what they are told by the people in power make my point for me.
Your hateful/insulting answers merely illustrate how extreme you have become.

Almost certainly the first new superpower of the C21st will be China - if it can reconcile the problems of the rural areas and the working classes without another violent revolution.

The other area which will probably come into its own will be Latin America as a confederation of states. It has the resources, the people and a rapidly expanding modern infrastructure.

In Europe and America we are so obsessed with our own concerns that we miss what is going in the rest of the world. In terms of standards of living and quality of life some Asian countries are already way ahead of us.

While American neocons think the C21st will be theirs other countries are quietly getting on with forging their own destinies.

You know, it's not good when you ask a question then spend your whole details box defending your position. I would love to see every country enjoy the same kind of success and fortune America has experienced for centuries. Why does America have to fall in order for that to happen? You stress equality but exclude America from the hope of a happy, healthy, and peaceful planet? Granted, you feel that America is responsible for suppressing and pushing politics, but everyone forgets to look past the administration. There are millions of Americans who feel exactly the way you do. Bush won by like .01% of the votes (and this is debateable). America is not a country infested with Bush-clones that all share his politics...

The U.S is still the most powerful nation on Earth and will remain so untill the next two decades atleast. I dont think that is U.S is getting any weaker. China and India will emerge the other two major powers both militarly and economically and challenge U.S dominance. Russia which still a formidible military power is also showing signs of economic growth, so I believe these three countries will emerge as the new powers within the next few decades.

Yes, Chavez is an excellent example of a leader of the "people". LMAO. Grow up.

Your "alternative" political systems fail on their own and just end up costing you and I more money. Why would ANYONE think that it is acceptable to live in an oppressive, brutal, and dictatorial society? (even if you do get "free" healthcare, LMAO again!)

JIM: The reason Canda has less hate-speech is because it is illegal there to say anything remotely "hateful" to someone. You know, that is called a restriction of your freedoms.

17 million is 6% of our population. Which is less than the amount of people receiving Health Care here under Medicare and Medicaid. The number of people is irrelevant, whereas the fraction of people is.
That being said, see how long your 'free health care lasts' not to mention the quality of it. Have fun waiting in lines for sub-par treatments and even worse, major medical procedures that you may need immediately.

p.s. if the U.S. is soooo awful, why do people still want to come here?

oh, and Chavez is a lunatic.
