Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is on another computer, verify that you are connected to the network. If you typed a path, verify that it is correct. If the problem persists, the server might not be available. what does that mean. and how can i fix it? thanks

This has nothing to do with your internet service but rather with the software you use.

1. Try something other than Windows Media Player (www.winamp.com)
2. Try installing the necessary codecs (Google AC3, K-Lite Codec Pack)
3. Check if the website or whoever you're watching videos off of is online (try going to the website, use ping, etc.)

I think it's either the file is corrupt or something is wrong with windows media player. I'm not positive about it. My guess it is that it's the file.
