It seems like anyone who is not Canadian looks at Pot in a very bad way. In Canada, It is decriminalized, and you are legally allowed to carry up to 28 Grams on you (in one sac otherwise your trafficking). What is it like in the states?

good question ........I have a thought what do you think ? , And for the record, no I do not use it.?
My thought is a simple idea. Legalize marijuana. But you say wait just a minute. Well before you jump to any conclusion hear me out. Ok lets say that each state grew and sold marijuana under the same laws as alcohol. any place that sold alcohol could now sell marijuana and you would have to be 21 to buy it. and the laws that govern alcohol would now also govern marijuana. So you could not drive and smoke. the marijuana would now be taxed and the money would feed the state another income, and the gangs that are selling it would now be out of luck, so crime rates would drop as well. As for the growing of it, this would fall under the state penitentiary system, and done by state prisoners. In the (pea farm idea of old). So the state would re coop some of the cost of housing the prisoners guilty of other crimes in the first place. This in my opinion would cure a lot of financial state problems , and cut way down petty crimes. because weather or not it is legal the same people who smoke it are still going to buy it. Even if, as Bill Clinton said "I did not inhale".

To the first guy to answer this question - You think wrong. It's illegal in every state. Depending on how much you're carrying, you'll get a ticket and they'll break your pipes/bongs. Anything over that certain amount, you're arrested on the spot. People are 'so uptight' because it IS a drug. We're taught drugs are bad from elementary school to high school. It's engraved into our minds even though marijuana isn't a violent drug, it's still a drug. I'm sure everyone has a story about a stoned friend who did something stupid while high. Imagine it being legalized in the US. We take everything we get and push it to the limits. Drugs aren't what we need.

Personally I don't like pot much either, and I'm a Canadian. While it's far less harmful MEDICALLY than cigarettes, the amount of weed-induced crimes, driving accidents, etc is still a valid statistic.. plus it just smells awful. But this is more personal opinion than anything really. So.. as long as people do weed responsibly (how's that possible if you're high?), then it's all alright.

Man, are you on pot or something? You sure don't know your Canadian Criminal Code!!! Marijuana is NOT decriminalized in Canada - you better do some research! Talk to a police officer about the offences....

I don't know... I don't have that problem. I'm what you call a Snoop Dogg type of smoker. If you've seen Half Baked you will get it, or else I'm not explaining it. I wish it was like that here in the states though. They call it the gateway drug, but in reality, isn't smoking and drinking just as bad if not worse than pot? But the govt has their hands in that pot *pun intended*.
We are uptight when it comes to pot and when it comes to sex and nudity. Damn Puritans.

The states have big corporations which make money by selling addicting drugs with side effects. They control the congress via lobbiests, and prevent the legalization of this substance. So if you visit, leave the pot at home.

I"m in ohio and it's illegal to have pot here. I don't blame them either. Pot causes confusion and tiredness. People smoke and get behind the wheel of a car. It's the same as if someone were drinking and driving.

I'm not Canadian. I'm also not uptight about it. Not at all. I'm not really sure what the detail points of the law are on it. I just keep it low-key like I've always done, and I don't worry about it.

It's illegal but it really depends on the cop and the amount. If you have a couple joints and a nice cop, he'll let you off, you just have to be honest and respectful to them...they hate it when you lie.
