Its a party arranged by a pregnant women's friends and family just before she is about to have her child. They would bring lots of gifts for the kid and the mother. It may include things that will become useful for the mother and the child like diapers, baby clothes, blankies, toys etc...hope u got an idea about baby shower.

It means you go watch the baby take a shower!----No, just kidding! That was what my cousin said when we went to one of my aunt's baby showers. He was disappointed when he saw no one taking a shower! But he was only 5 and we had to explain it to him!
A baby shower is where friends and relatives shower you with gifts for your new baby! (the baby is usually not born yet but I have known people who wait until after to have the shower)

Somebody is having a child and they are celebrating it. Many people gather to the house and give the woman presents for the new member of the family!
