Well, usually popularity carries over from junior high. However, if not, get involved in sports, clubs etc. Make friends with upper classmen. Be friendly and confident. Good luck!

I found that kids in my high school had matured a lot since middle school. I used to get picked on a lot in middle school because I was heavy. Then I lost a lot of weight by the time I reached 10th grade.
Best thing to do is become better friends with the people your friends with now, and try to add more friends to your group, one at a time. It's easier to make new friends when you're already with one or two other friends. For some reason I found that if I had one or two friends in a class with me in high school, I was more likely to make some new friends in that class than if I was there by myself. I guess we're more likely to be outgoing when we're around friends.
But don't make friends just for the sake of being popular... honesly it's pretty overrated and it's not gonna get you anything, really. And by the time you get to college you're going to be starting all over again making friends.
Your best bet is to make a bunch of really good friends who you can keep in touch with even after you graduate.

well i am not popular but just trying to give some advice.
you have to try helping teachers but carrying their books, ask them if they need help, do very well in class (of course) in your work, offer advice to anyone in need. those simple things may do.

By being yourself. Act with integrity. Stay away from idiots, and bullies, do your schoolwork, confront liberal teachers who try to brainwash you with anti-American propaganda.

People will notice this, and will like you....except your liberal teachers.
