In relatively recent history there were two Republican presidents (the term is used loosely for one) whose inaction or action(s) seriously and adversely impacted the GLBT community: Ronald Reagan and
George W. Bush.

Of the two, which individual would you consider be the most hostile toward our community?

I think it is a VERY hard call, but I'm gonna go with Reagan for the following reasons:

1) He fiddled while Rome burned, or more specifically, while thousands of gay men died of HIV

AND

2) He took the first steps towards legitimizing and pandering towards the Moral Majority/Christofacist/American Taliban/"religious" anti-gay JERKS who got GWB elected in 2000. So it's Reagans fault that we have Bush in the first place!

Non-American here, but I'd have to say Ronald Reagan, he sat on his a$$ while Aids burned through the gay community. His inaction caused irreparable damage to what was a flourishing community of artists, poets, businessman and other professionals. A great tragedy that could have been avoided if only he had acknowledged the truth. There, I hope you don't mind my 0.125 cents :)

the international is slowly replacing for the further proper, truly. it is only demanding to be certain, and it is going way too sluggish. I surely have a tremendous kind of gay friends (i like going to gay bars, because it is the only position the position I, as a hetero guy, may have a customary communicate with a woman, without her wondering that I wanna get into her pants, lol), and that i have considered all those gay friends conflict with this. and that i hate it. In Holland we had some Christian faculties in a city talked about as Staphorst (between the only accurate fundie cities we've) that needed a sparkling, particular dictionary for the children. It turned right into a lifeless ringer for the traditional dictionary, yet without terrible words like condom, prostitution, gonnorhea, drugs and homosexuality. of route chuffed words like genocide, warfare, racism and homicide were nonetheless allowed. All i ought to be certain changed into that 13 year old boy, sitting in his room, suffering with his gay emotions. He does no longer actually have an section interior the dictionary anymore. Thank goodness the authorities did not enable this nonsense. i comprehend, that is a stupid little get mutually, yet discrimination is likewise interior the information. It sickens me, truly. If i ought to substitute the international swifter, i'd do it, truly. I desire you good success. only keep in mind that there are also many, many usual people, who only settle for others the way they're.

I would have to say Bush, because when Reagan was in office he still didn't take things to far, But Bush on the other hand is crazy, I mean he won't even acknowledge gays the right to marriage or civil unions. I think that the best President was Bill Clinton because he actually supported gays.

I lived through the Reagan era and can clearly say, he was far worse. Bush Jr is just a boob and we'll soon be done with him. Reagan was clearly out to do the GLBT harm.

But who knows, we still have a few more years of Bush - best be on our toes!

I'd say it was dubbya. He goes above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to halting any measurable growth (i.e. marriage, adoptions etc) in the GLBT community. And the scary part is, he gets away with it, because he uses that old "I don't hate the sinner, but the sin" routine. But I'm sure that's because he's still thinking he can get votes from us......well, he's sadly mistaken if he thinks he'll get ANYthing out of this lesbian! :)

Well you missed one. You have Ronald Reagan, George Bush Sr, and George Bush Jr.

My vote is George Bush Jr. He has been the worse president this country has seen and his polls show this clearly.
