does it use the heater or the ac to defrost the window?

Correct, the AC will help defrosting. Check out your owner's manual this and for other helpful information. Stuff you really should should know, like what's OK or not to do if it needs to be towed, how to reset the inertia switch to the fuel pump, and what stuff needs to be done as regular maintenance. If you don't have the manual you can get one by contacting the manufacturer.

umm i defrost the car window by turning the little knob to defrost but how the car does it i dunno i think its the heat though buy when the cars first started it might as well be the ac cause its blowin ice cold air

It depends on the temp. In the winter, use heat. In the summer, use A/C
