Not necessarily. Of the couples I have known, the younger "bull" dykes usually hang with and party with others like themselves. But in older couples, I have more often seen the feminine woman with a "masculine" woman.

it is common for two "femmes" (feminine lesbians) to date each other, but not so common for two "butches" (masculine women) to date each other. Most butches tend to date femmes and femmes date butches but femme/femme is acceptable too. It's just the butch/butch thing doesn't always go over so well. I guess in the lesbian world it would be the eviqalent of two gay men. A lot of the butch lesbians have the same mentality as men, and think two good looking women together is ok, or a good looking woman for herself, but if she looks like a guy, she generally doesnt' want someone else with guy attributes.
