Why do most indians view muslims so negatively? In a poll by the Pew research Center only 41% on indians had a positive view of muslims. 41% of the respondents also said that they believed that most muslims in their country supported terrorism.

Also 73% of respondents in india said that muslims were fanatical,

67% said that muslims were violent,

58% said that muslims were arrogant,

64% said muslims were selfish,

55% said muslims were greedy,

and finally 50% said muslims were immoral.

So why the strong negative views of muslims in India, considering that all muslims have contributed to Indian history and culture, and all that they continue to contribute.

You appeared to be toeing a line about Muslims in India, armed with biased reports matching your wishful thinking.

As I have already answered to one of your related questions, I repeat that this issue could be debate-able at any length.

In short, like in any other community, a few handful resident vested interests in each community have been destroying the good deeds of their fellow countrymen. No community is exception to this.

People to people, all communities in India are just like siblings and having mutual relations undergoing various phases of life.

I am not from India, so I am not really the person to be asking here. But I do know a little background information.

First, a Muslim killed Gandhi. That upset a lot of Hindus.

Second, the Muslims responded with violence to the Indian government's decision to relocate Muslims to Pakistan.

Third, the Hindus and Muslims just couldn't work out a peaceable solution to "sharing" the subcontinent. And since the Hindus are in the majority, they sort of blamed the Muslims, I guess.

Prejudice doesn't really make sense in any event, though, because it is "blaming" an entire group for the perceived behaviors of some people who happen to belong to that group.

How authenticated is this research center? As a matter of fact, Muslims in India have the most freedom than there counterparts in the rest of the world, they do not have to go around wearing hijab, their daughters can go get education, career, speak their mind and breathe freedom as oppossed to muslims in Islamic nation, then again if they are so unhappy they did ask for a separate nation which is Pakistan and bangladesh, they are welcome to migrate. They are all of the above and then some for India has given them the right to express, as most of Islamic nations are/were ruled by the dictators: General Musharaff, Saddam Hussein, etc., Muslims in India have not contributed anything towards the culture that already existed, so that's a misnomer, as of history they have only contributed towards bloody wars and violence so that they could impose themselves and their rule upon the Indians. And yet again, if they are unhappy they are welcome to leave.

Wait a minute...I'm confused...are you meaning why Hindu Indians view Muslim Indians negatively???

In an answer to the question another 'answerer' posted...why do Indian men always try to pick up American women or whatever...Glamour recently ran a story on this. What it boils down to is Indians value the female gender very little and more often than not abort female fetuses or kill them soon after birth which in the long run has resulted in a shortage of Indian females...not enough to go around. Check out my 360 page for more info on that.

Well assuming the surveying techniques are statistically appropriate, then I think that the enmity towards Muslims is based in a fundamental conflict. That is, Muslims are different from us, and they attack and offend us, so we bear hostility towards them. Indeed, as the Pakistani Muslims try to take Jammu and Kashmir like dogs and shamelessly slay our valiant soldiers, we remain strong against them. When the Mughal plague came to try and conquer our people, they could not break Bharat's resolve. So our inevitably everlasting anger is thereby justified with that and many other incidents.
It's possible though to sympathize with some fanatics as they wage a war against Westerners. They are a common enemy. However, if you watch and cheer the snake, it might as well bite you too. So, we should be careful to not support Muslim terrorists because they attack us too. The enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend particularly for many of the reasons I have listed above.
However, I must say that many Muslims are friendly and nice. Some of the non-fanatics are even cool and admirable, such as Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan.

Well, they have lived next to them for centuries, so I guess they would know. A lot of Indians are Hindu, Hindus are a very peaceful people, Muslims are not. Most people value human life, Muslims seem to value the sacrifice of human life. Makes for an unstable situation.

its because thier religion supports polygamy, eating meat, supress women, terrorise people.

They do all this in the name of relegion

They are not well educated and hence cannot have the wisdom to understand how they are just bull**** and need to change themselves
