The character left so suddenly without a real reason, there must've been something going on there with that actor, why did he leave, i know he's not dead, he's in a sheila's wheels advert (in the audience!)....

he was sacked by the producers of neighbours for drinking and brawling with other cast members. Also ther was several pending court cases against him.
