Haha. I get this once in a while. They ask me about what's going on at Disney World. Or they ask what life is like on the beach. I go to the beach once in a while, but natives and longtime residents don't usually go to the tourist areas. They hang out in the places natives hang out in. You know? I just think it's funny what the rest of the country thinks Florida is. It's not one big beach (there's alot going on inland) and it's not one big theme park.

I live din florida all my life until my dad got a job transfer and I agree

people not in flrodia, i tell them where I live, and they first say "oh! do you like disney! whats the beach like!?

I was always just like

"disney is too expensive and full of people like you, the beaches are dirty and ugly on the atlantic side and full of europeans that do not need to e wearing the speedos that they do every day..."

I hated florida really. it would be a nice vaca spot but i hated living there. very dirty and expensive to live because of all the tourists spots...especially around orlando where I lived.

seaworl now costs about 15, even with a flroia resident discount it's over the top

people..SEA WORLD IS NOT WORTH $65!!!!

kay I'm done.

Man, I MISS Fl. born and raised there... moved away... college, Air Force... and now I'm moving to D.C. Wish I could make tons of money and move back! I used to get questions like that all the time! I lived near and loved the beach though, and surfing... but you're right! I avoided the tourist spots, though I did like shopping at Ron Jon's before it became that HUGE neon castle... it's still an ok place to go, but way overpriced now.

I miss it so very much... don't leave if you can't help it- it's a mistake!

Thats how people are. I lived all over Southern California and people ask me about celebrities, the ocean, the mountains, skiing, all sorts of stuff that I'm not really even involved with. I'll admit So-Cal is one of the most beautiful places in the continental US, but its not like I'm hanging out with Hollywood Producers at The Grill in Beverly Hills all day long either.

I live in Northwest Florida, and most people think I live near Disney. My monster in law is originally from Michigan but has been here since 1969 and her family thought we used PALM TREES for Christmas trees. They also have a big misconception that Floridians are wealthy or have more money than they do.

When I lived in Florida, out of state friends and family always thought I was on the beach somewhere, as if thats all Florida is.
