On Yahoo - go to More Yahoo! Services and click on Messenger. then at the very, very bottom of the page it says: Yahoo! Messenger: Home - Partners - Add Presence to Your Site - Launch Web Messenger - Security Updates....click on Launch Web Messenger and viola - no voice - only messenger!

You can try a messenger like trillian which puts all the networks together and doesn't have the extra stuff.
Trillian uses a very low amount of memory, has no ads and tons of great skins and plugins. I reccomend it over all the regular programs and any other compilation program. Nothing comes close, especially not gaim.

Either download the current version and just don't use voice or go to http://oldversion.com and get one of the old versions.

just download it because the voice part is just an option u can use if u choose to...otherwise u can just instant messege without it!
