What is the deal with "the Congressional Black Caucus" ? How racist is this ? The black Americans would be jumping up and down if there was a Congressional White Caucus. So why do we have a Black one ?? I think that the racist card by them is over played and has gone over the edge. What do you think ??

Its a pretty good question actually. As a white person I guess its just that African Americans still face disadvantages because of race and need to look over legislation that might harm them. Like Congress recently renewed the Voting Rights Act, to make sure that Black Americans would continue to be allowed to vote. And if some legislation comes up that has a negative impact on an area where a lot of African Americans live, that needs to be examined too. The white race, being in the majority and setting all the rules and standards, doesn't seem to need any special protections, at least not enough to justify a caucus. I hope we get to the point that race never matters but until then African Americans like other interest groups have legitimate interests they need to protect.

Yes it has. Even Bill Cosby thinks it is about time for the black people to stop playing the race card and get responsible.

The Black Caucus, NAACP and Affirmative Action are all racist devices.

Black People wanted to be included among the Responsible Folks and to be declare Equal. They deserved being Equal in ALL things and in every way. Rules, Laws and Regulations were enacted to give them that right and to enjoy those privileges. But, for some, that was not enough,...they wanted more than an equal amount.

The Rainbow Coalition and the colored caucuses became "racial unions" and effectively returned things back to racial issues.

A few Black People gained personal power by pushing the racial position and they ignited racial feelings that may end up hurting Black People.

I agree that it is time to put the cards on the table and start talking about "Colors". Who, on either side, has the b***s to set up the meeting?

You apparently don't live in the south. Racism is far from over. I was born and raised in the north, I am in my mid forties, and recently moved south. I cannot believe how backwoods and in the dark some of the people down here are. I hear the "N" word more times than I ever thought I would, and cringe every time. There is still a large void of intelligence in the general population who don't not understand that all people, ALL PEOPLE, are created equal. I feel the racist card will need to continue to be played until the white egomaniacs either die off, or something magical happens to them so that they can see the light. It amazes me too that this is supposedly the bible belt. You would think that people who claim to be so righteous and christian orientated that tolerance and understanding would not depend on what color your skin is. BTW I am a white female, and this backwoods thinking goes for women too. But the hatred towards the Black people is much larger.

I'm not sure. According to the black population they can't be raciest. But they can use words such as "cracker" "redneck" (that's for most people who disagree with their view point) "honky" and the list continues oh but mind you don't use the "N" word no no no... Meanwhile there are 60 openly acclaimed Black colleges in the USA , The United ***** College Fund, (can we say *****?) an all black station BET, the NAACP and this list goes on. Now how many scholarships do you get for being white? Is there an all white television station,or how about a national board that only handles the white agenda????

I'm not sure what your problem is with this. Since Congress is almost exclusively a white male institution, the few Blacks and Women in the Congress need to be organized in order to try and get things done. There is a White Man's caucus, it is the majority!!!

There is also a congressional Hispanic Caucus. There are lots of cauci. in fact, I am guessing you don't even know what a caucus is. If you did you wouldn't be asking this question.

There is no need for for a white caucus, because practically all of congress is white.

DOUBLE STANDARD
they feel they are above the rules
look at New Orleans if a white mayor left 1,000 buses sit instead of evacuating black people they would still be marching and yelling. But a black mayor does it and gets re-elected

Same thing with the ***** college fund and the NAACP. If other groups, especially caucausians, started a group for their racial group only, people would throw a fit and say it was racist!!!
