Is there something wrong? Is there a way I can check and see if there is something wrong? If there is a way what is it?

Maybe molting or maybe mostly the heat-The light thing helps as well as ---go and buy a few eggs and let them come to room temp--then place in their nest box===
We had this same problem when they were not molting--and tried this and it worked the next day--we also changed out the hay in their nesting boxes.
I think they thought they had gone on a vacation==LOL==
Try it--and see if it helps--Make sure their Food and mash are fresh--with plenty of water in this heat....
I have heard of Egg farms having glass or real looking plastic eggs to re-stimulate their hens when they went on strike.
Hope this brings the egg production back to ya!

It may be just the heat. Have you changed their feed recently? That could also account for it. Sometimes letting them roam in the year to eat grass and bugs helps. Our chickens always seemed healthier when they ate grass and bugs, plus there wasn't hardly a bug around after letting them out a lot.

I'm not sure...but could it be the heat? It's really hot in a lot of the U.S. right now.

they are 'moulting'.......its just a period they go thru during the hot season. A few months......they will be back to normal. Unless they are obviously sick......nothing to worry about.
