Sting?I personally think so, I like his solo work better mind you... Stewart has had a great solo career during lots of instrumentals but you don't hear a lot about his work.

Yes, bassist and vocalist STING was by far and away the most talented of the group. But don't sell their lead guitarist short. In 1976, when The Police were first picked up by A&M Records, their guitar player knew about 3 chords and played them loudly and badly. Things changed rapidly when he was replaced with Andy Summers, with his great sound and vast knowledge of chord structure.
