After the last shot of Depo Provera, it can take over 6 months for the drug to leave the body. Side effects may linger until the drug is completely gone. The book Contraceptive Technology says: "It is not possible to discontinue Depo Provera immediately. Weight gain, depression, breast tenderness, allergic reactions, and menstrual irregularities may continue until Depo Provera is cleared from a woman's body, about 6 to 8 months after her last injection. After discontinuing Depo Provera, women may also have a 6 to 12 month delay in return of fertility." You might try cleansing techniques to detox or eliminate the synthetic hormone from where it is stored in your body's tissues: drink lots of water every day, eat lots of fresh raw organic vegetables, drink raw vegetable juice, sweat in a steam room or sauna, get lots of exercise and fresh air. You can also ask at a health food store about herbal formulas or teas that help detoxify your body or that balance female hormones, or talk with a naturopathic physician or herbalist.

Yes, weird things happen, after this you may get it again very frequently or you may not get your period in months, your body is going through a hormonal change. But if you don´t get your period after three months, talk to your doc. Or if you get really heavy cramps or see something abnormal go to your doc. Other than that, the shot should be taken off the market because you may not be able to get pregnant if you use it for a long time.

I don't think there is a normal when it comes to Depo-Provera. While I'm on it, I don't have periods, but once I went off it, and I kept having 2 week periods 2 weeks apart! I went back on it, and the periods stopped again. I've heard others have heavy periods while they're on it, and some stay normal.

if you are talking about the depo shot that is normal it may take a couple months for your menstral cycle to become regular. I can't remember most of the side affects but another thing is that if you are trying to get pregnant you may not be able too for awhile depending on have long you had the shots.

Yes, you are going to be going through some things for the first year. I had my last shot in October and still no period. It take a long time for it to get out of your system. Good Luck and wish me luck because my partner and I want to have a baby. But, I can't do anything until this crap gets out of my body.
