get underneath the car and unscrew the filter, it looks like a can, when you buy the part make sure you look at the part and match it to the car. Some helpful hints though:
-if your going to change the filter, your going to HAVE to change the oil, when you take off the filter the oil leaks out of the car, so make sure you stock up on enough oil.
-get an oil drip pan, and when the oil flows out of the engine after taking the filter off make sure it lands in the pan, because it will go everywhere and wont come up from the concrete.
-wipe everything clean before putting the filter up there because the last thing you need is a leak from your filter.
-LASTLY, make sure not to forget to replace all the oil you filtered out of the car with new oil. the old oil can be taken to an auto parts store and dumped, thats what they're actually good at.

Its inline under the vehicle probably back by the fuel tank. It requires a special tool that you can get from you local parts store. Be careful while removing it as the fuel system may still be pressurized. Keep your face away from it. The filter is marked inlet/outlet or flow direction.
After replacing, you may want to turn the key on for about 30sec before starting, this will allow the fuel system to re-pressurize.

I can't answer your question, but I can tell you that Ford products are very complicated and therefore hard to work on. I feel sorry for you. You might want to consider a GM product for your next car purchase. Good luck on the fuel filter!

Archer's answer is correct, Fords are a good product, not as many recalls as a GM vehicle
