everyone wants to go all ape-**** about the da vinci code, and how mind blowing it is- but robert anton wilson and robert shea wrote a very similar novel in 1969 called the illuminatus trilogy about the same topics and covered them in much more depth and with far more accuracy than dan brown. has no one heard of robert anton wilson, or do americans just love paying people for stealing other peoples' ideas and art that much?

Da Vinci Code is a fiction story and nothing more. Is cheaper to make a movie out of Da Vinci Code then the other books..The Eye in the Pyramid, The Golden Apple, and Leviathan.

The Da Vinci Code has been proven to be false by the History Channel and the Discovery Channel but people still think it is true................go figure.
As to it being a rip-off it figures.

It's just a rip off all around. 99.9 % fiction but represents many things as FACTS. Dan Brown ripped off other writers and is trying to decieve the world but putting a little truth in and diluting the rest.

Better publicity, and "Da Vinic Code" isn't all that well-written, rife with research errors.
