It depends what you mean by run "a lot". If you can run bit, then walk around a bit, but run when you need to again in 90 minute match then you should play striker or Central defender.
There are 2 main types of strikers. The fast running type, and the not-so-fast running type. If you dont' like to run, then work on your shooting skills. Runners can open up space for you to get the easy goal (but you have to be good at taking those chances).
Some good example of these kind of players is Trezegeut and Crespo.

if you want to be a good soccer player, you have to be in shape. End of story. Even being a goalie won't help, there might be a fine goalie already on the team. Keep running, keep at it. You don't get soccer without running.

make goals and start out running .75 miles a day, then increase it by .25 every day or every other day. soon you will get a tolerance built up for running and you will be able to run very long distances at a time if you train yourself like this. try not to skip any days unless you really need to. keep at this for the rest of the summer and on into soccer season. you will do very well. good luck.

I can't run a lot either. When I play soccer I think of why I play soccer. I play soccer because I love the Game.I can run long and hard when this goes through my Mind. you could also try being goalie. It doesn't take alot of work to go a long way.

You have to go on MTV Made like that fat queer guy who wanted to be a soccer player.
j/k, endurance can be conditioned. The first step is to eat right and exercise more...always the first step. Then get with an athletic trainer and do a step program where you gradually run more and more with a faster weighted time. The most important aspect is to be DEDICATED. Pain is weakness leaving the body =)

i had the same prob as u all you have to do is to run 30 min per day and then once u get used to it you could run even longer if that dosnt work out for u then thry playing goalie but watch out, the goalie gets the most pressure feeling during penaltie kicks

Be goalie or be defense. If you have a good enough team the ball will stay on the opposite end of the field. U probably won't have to do any work

You have to build your endurance. Start with jogging and then add in some sprints. After that try running for 90 mins straight. That's when you're ready. Its also what you can do with the ball.

If there is no chance of you getting faster or getting more endurance, then practice doing tricks and work on your passing and shooting. Being fast is not completly neccesary in soccer if you are skillfull in other parts of the game.

I hate to say it, but if you can't run you will probably never be a good soccer player.
