usually they suck, so what's up with that???? Do you think it's the alcohol served at the karaoke places or they just really think that they are good/???

I know A LOT of people who think they are good singers-karaoke or not. Unfortunately, they probably got trashed, sang a few songs, got ONE compliment (from someone equally as trashed)and now they think they are the next American Idol. Unfortunately, when a person sings, they hear something different from what everyone else hears. Have you ever heard a recording of yourself and were surprised at how you sounded?Same concept, just added lots of liquid courage and VOILA! Lots of singers who should never have a mike in their possession.

I've been doing Karaoke for over 20 years and I do believe some people think they sound good , but only after a few drinks will they sing. I've heard the best and worst, some you would like to able to gag their so bad they could make a dog howl. Alcohol makes a lot of people think they are professional singers after a few drinks. If you can't do it sober you sure can't do it drunk. I have been told I'm good and ask why I didn't have my own band. I tell them I am still learning. This is what makes me good, when you think you are good, in most cases are your not. I always remember that there is always someone better. If the place has a dance floor, I always do songs people can dance to. If I can't feel and live the song I don't do it. To sound good you have to put your heard and soul into a song. Some people get up to sing, just to see how big of @ss they can be, and how many people will be ticked off because they did.

Usually they are drunk, and having fun. That is the whole point of karaoke, to have fun. It's NOT a talent contest!

some people sing off key; my sister did ;she took after her father, but she married a guy that sings good and plays a guitar and miraculously she learned how to sing right so it is possible a thing to do given time. some people that don't sing right sound very comical and i have a big love for that to me that is some good entertainment.
