Proactiv Solution

Yes, I was just going to say Proactive is great!
You may not even have to order it, they may sell it at your nearby shopping mall.
You have to really follow through on it though, but the difference will be visible almost immediately.

Another thing you might want to try is Cetaphil - both the wash and the moisturizer. They are excellent for even the most sensitive skin.
It is less for acne care, but more for prevention.

Another less common solution (that I swear by) is acidophilus capsules.
Oftentimes, acne is caused by a buildup of toxins in the colon and a simple capsule one or two times a day (It varies for some people) will often relieve that. It often takes at least a week to take effect, as the buildup factor needs to be achieved for any results. This is NOT a laxative or anything along those lines, it is a natural bacteria that is already present in your body. There are several different kinds of probiotics and if your daughter is a vegetarian, there are vegetarian capsules for that as well.
(No gelatin)
Your best bet for getting acidophilus is at Whole Foods or Wild Oats, but lately, a lot of grocery stores have gone organic/holistic and offer these items as well.
There are contra-indications to taking acidophilus, such as if one is pregnant or breast feeding and it may interact with any other herbal items you may be taking, so check with your doctor first.
Acidophilus choices can be overwhelming, but the best kind are the refrigerated capsules and the ones which have the most combined ingredients. (Lactobacillus acidophilus/acidophilus/bifida, etc.)
You may also notice different instructions for each bottle, but the best way to take them is on an empty stomach.

Any of these choices (or all together) is bound to help your daughter.
And any of these choices is better than going on hardcore medicine such as accutane...
Check out your options, you would be surprised at what works!!

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

proactiv is absolutely THE best stuff you can buy without a prescription. i had occasional breakouts, oil- and my brother had acne pretty bad. and we both used it for awhile and saw great results. the commercials dont lie!
have you taken your daughter to the dermatologist? they can prescribe minocycline, or some other type of antibiotic, coupled with a medicated cream that would help tremendously. sometimes the problem isn't on the outside of the skin, but a type of bacterial infection that needs treatment from the inside out. walmart used to have a product called nature's cure (i think that's the right name) in the beauty section, and it was a cream and a pill you take daily. it helped me for a long time. that is, if you dont want to spend a lot of money just yet. i think it was like, $10. but sometimes nothing helps, and you have to chalk it up to bad genes.
good luck!

ok, 1) drink plenty of water
2) do not pop them (it leaves horrible scars)
3) use an exfoliator. What I use is the St.Ives for dry skin. I used to have REALLY bad acne a couple of years ago and this stuff helps soooo much.
If none of these work, then go make an appointment with your dermetoligist, it could be that you guys all have a food allergy that you dont know about that causes the acne.

I highly reccomend using Neutrogena Deep Clean with invigorating tingly microbeads. I used it and within one week most of my acne was gone. Use it once in the morning and once at night and I garantee that it'll work for her. If not, then go to a dermatologist and see what they say!

If you wear make-up, during the summer only put on eyeshadow and lip gloss, skip powder's.They will only cause more bumps. And keep away from your trigger foods, ones you know will give you more bumps. When I was younger my mom had me wash my face with Lye Soap, it helped me.If you can find some, try it once a day till you see if it will help then wash in morning and at night.

Rubbing alcohol to dry them up and keep them from getting infected.

Stay away from fruit juice, citrus fruit, chocolate, carbonated beverages, or anything with an acidic content that will break out her skin.
