If you are asking if Kerry's political platform included allowing or forcing people to attend schools on Saturdays then that is a false allegation. First of all, this is not under the purview of the President and second of all, the public education systems are handled on a state level with only some nominal federal guidelines. Anyway, most universities offer Saturday classes but enrollment in these classes is voluntary since attending an university or college requires payment of tuition.
Your friend's assertion just seems like another ridiculous claim made about Kerry's platform and frankly, I'm a bit annoyed at all the falsehoods told about both candidates. Though it seems that the lies told about Kerry are bigger because he doesn't have the position of President of the United States (an office whose venerability was established by George Washington and the few great statesmen who followed him) to protect him and the liars think they can get away with the ridiculous BS they spout.
Your question is incoherent because you postulate a what-if scenario that uses a past tense. This sentence structure just does not work grammatically. Ironically, you probably could have benefitted from an additional Saturday class of English.

I sure hope the President doesn't hold that power. That should be up to the states, up to the cities. This is why America is crumbling. The National Government is now 31.2% of the GNP. When it started, it was below 1%. The Federal Government is for Judicial issues, government, and the general welfare. The states should hold most of the power. This is actually what the civil war was about. The southern states did not want import-export taxes, because they had all of the agriculture. The northern states did. Let's face it. Mississippi has a different economy than New York. Each state is different, and should have more power than the Federal Government.

I had heard that there was some politician wanting to make people go to school on Saturdays and have Fridays off or something. When I was going to school they actually did a survey wanting to know if the students would like this; but I don't know if it was Kerry.
To be honest I was not really in to politics at the time, but I can tell you it was around the time that Kerry was running for president.

They go to school 6 days a week in Japan. That is neither here nor there, but main point is that John (Hanoi Jane) Kerry lost, and I hope he rots in hell. Remember any program that the president wants to implement has to make it through congress. If the constituents make it known to their representatives that the Saturday classes are a bad idea, then congress will kill the idea.

Not only did he never say that, he would not have the authority nor would anyone in the Federal government to enforce such a rule. Education is left squarely in the control of state governments.

This is a new one on me, but take heart that if he did make you do things like that or even enlist in the Army, he would give you a video camera so you could record all your purple hearts.

the president of the united states is just that, president. not king or emperor. he cant force those kind of decisions. he could create a bill in including that, but it has to be voted on.
please, either learn how our government works, or don't vote in 2008 because you are lost.
