they're mad since they regreted that they didn't work hard enough to go to college... that's why they don't have alot of choices open for them... but i don't think anyone would be mad to work in McDonald's.

It isn't just Fast Food workers- it is many other places. It is appreciated that you were polite, but recall that there were probably 15 people ahead of you that were not polite at all! Having worked in such jobs, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep up a happy face when this happens so much to the one behind the counter. How come no one questions that customers are rude, but all get upset if the employee is? The issue is one of Rudeness existing at all. No one should have to put up with it in the first place.

I don't understand it either. I know that many fast food places actually do pay more than minimum wage. Many not much more, but it still is more! I understand some people don't like their job, but they need to money. however there is no point in being unhappy all life about something you can't change! They should be nice to cusomters and maybe their boss will notice and give them a raise, you never know!

They don't care, and that's why they work in fast-food joints -- they can't get a better job because they're uneducated and largely unmotivated. On the flipside, however, working in customer service isn't a bed of roses. They usually have to deal with irate customers on a regular basis, and it's not always easy to put on a happy face and try to diffuse someone who is pissed off because someone forgot their Frosty. Best not to eat at fast-food joints anyway because most of the stuff they sell is VERY bad for your health (too bad it tastes so good!)

I think a majority of the fast food workers are 'kids' (teens and into early 20's maybe), they aren't wise to the world yet. I do partly agree with you but they will likely look back in retrospect and realize they were snippy brats back then. As for the polite ones, kudos to you!

When you're living at minimum wage, it's not that simple. Making $5.15/hour, you can't just quit your job and go look for another one unless you want to starve and loose your house. They feel trapped and that's why they are angry. Have some sympathy for them because they are truly the less fortunate.

USUALLY IT'S NOT THE "JOB" WE HATE IT'S THE RUDE PEOPLE WHO THINK THAT THEY ARE SOMEHOW BETTER THAN WE ARE, THE ONES WHO THINK THAT IT IS OK TO DEMAND AND HAVE NO PATIENCE. JUST BECAUSE IT'S FAST FOOD DOESN'T MEAN WE WAVE A WAND AND THE FOOD APPEARS BEFORE YOU. I WOULD NEVER DREAM OF TALKING TO ANYONE THE WAY I HAVE BEEN TALKED TO BY SOME CUSTOMERS.
