I asked how come it is that most (not ALL) gay men talk with that voice, ya know like soft, feminine, with a slight lisp? The only answer I got said that that was a stereotype, if thats so then how come the only gay men I have ever come across all talk in that voice?

I used to feel the same way as you. Take the show Will & Grace, for instance. All the gay men *I* knew were like Jack...not Will. Or like Nathan Lane's character in the movie "Bird Cage." Flaming. But a gay friend took me to a gay bar, once, and the majority were very masculine and masculine-sounding. Muscles galore! I was a little jealous that I might as well have been a tree for the attenion I was getting! LOL! KSCowboiway is right, it WAS the younger ones who talked like Jack and who were more boisterous. Everyone was so nice, too!

Let me first say that I am a lesbian. I recently attended the gay pride in Atlanta and I saw some of the hottest, sexiest men I have ever laid eyes on! I'm not talking feminine men but big, hulking, muscular men. I think the gays you have talked to are just a few out of thousands and thousands. I don't think there is anything wrong with the more feminine men. I really dont! But there ARE more hulking gay men out there!

See my answer to your original Question.

As for the lisp, I've NEVER met a Gay man with a lisp. Now THAT is a stereotype that is totally unfounded -- in my world, that is. That may have been developed for comedic effect by the entertainment industry, perhaps?

Best Wishes!

It is clear you do not know many gay men. It is a minority that talk in a femmine voice. A small minority. Most of the men that talk with this voice are younger. They are trying to attct attention to themselves and the fact they are gay. there is nothing wrong with this, hoever I can assure you most grow out of it. I suggest you go to a nice gay country bar. Go in and see how many are talkign in that voice. Go to a gay Leather bar and see how many talk in that voice.

I think you just answered your own question, you said all of the gay men you've came across...everyone else hasn't had that same experience as you.

Because that is the only gay men you know about the ones that are not out and effeminate are not going to be anouncing they are gay.

A man's voice has nothing to do with his sexual orientation.
