I'd like to think that Israel really does care about and try to avoid civilian casualties.

However, realize that Israel is not fighting a standing army, in which case most of the casualties would be strictly military. Every one in Hezbollah is by definition a civilian. And they use their neighbors as shields to cover their actions. Thus, if a Hezbollah militant is killed, that is, again by definition, a civilian death. And if Hezbollah insists on launching attacks from neighborhoods, you're going to see more civilian casualties (both legitimate civilians and those who are Hezbollah).

Its a sad fact that Hezbollah puts the the people it is supposedly fighting for and who support it in harms way -- and it does this with little regard for the consequences.

Not at all!!!!!!!!!!! only today they bombed a truck carrying food and medicine for the south, what does that have to do with Hezbollah, and out of the 300 killed since last week, only 5 were know as Hezbollah members, the others who were mostly children are left dead after their home collapsed on them.
