Most women start feeling their baby move or have the "butterfly" sensation when they are in week 12-16, but then again some women have reported to never feel their baby move untill their 5th or 6th month and have still gone on to have completely healthy babies. Don't worry if you cant feel him/her yet, every pregnancy is differant so don't expect yours to be like reading from a textbook.
Im 19 weeks preganant and started having "butterflys" around week 14, trust me when it happens you'll know it.

I've found that Babyzone.com is a fantastic website for expectant mothers. They offer profesional advice and if you sign up you can recieve an e-mail each week telling you all about the progress of you and your baby.

If it is worrying you then the best thing to do would be to contact your midwife or GP. They will be more than happy to help you and will offer really great advice, dont worry on your own just ask someone.

Hope all goes well for you x

Don't worry about a thing. Most first-time mothers don't feel any movements until about 20 weeks or later, and even then they are very faint. Yes, a little like butterflies! Be patient and the time will come when you experience this amazing feeling.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Nope. The first time I felt anything was around 20 weeks and I only started feeling my son move regularly around 27 weeks. My doctor told me that for a first pregnancy, that was average. Don't worry!

I started to feel my daughter at about 5 months, don't worry about a thing, take advantage of the situation now and sleep as much as you can , cause before you know it when you want to sleep the baby won't stop moving, then you get an arm or leg under your ribcage or a foot kicking you everywhere......

Congratulations, on your pregnancy, take it easy and don't worry too much remember, anxiety effects the baby too.

I am a first time mother and started feeling "butterflies" when i was about 17 weeks. When you get to be about 17 to 18 weeks, i would start laying on your back and just relaxing. You will feel them soon. :)

Not yet you have a ways to go before you feel anything. First time moms usually don't feel anything until they are at least 16weeks and even at this point they only feel the movements sometimes. Woman who have already had children may feel them a few weeks earlier. But no one feels them this early.

Too early to feel your baby move. Wait til 20-24 weeks. Sometimes after you have an ultrasound and can see, you realize that you have been feeling the baby.

I was 20 weeks pregnant before i felt my baby move, your baby is moving but is still far too small for you to feel it. The first time you do feel it though is amazing, you really feel pregnant then!!

between 16 and 20 weeks is the norm

i know it is exciting and you cant wait - but it really is worth the wait

i might also suggest going to this site - they do a pregnancy email service for free that tells you what the expect and look out for every week - i love it - it even tells me how big my baby is and how much he weighs

congrats on the baby
