Not a big chance. Often the "maker" (director, producer, etc.) doesn't have a big say. It's often the client or the advertising agency.

They might be able to introduce to the right people - depending on who they get to work with and know.

It depends... If you have the talent eventhough you're not that much good-looking and you got the potential, you're a hit...
