If abortion is wrong because you are disobeying God by killing a life, then isn't artificial insemination wrong as well? One may argue that God is pro-life, however, if God designed you to be infertile or sterile, doesn't that naturally mean that he does not want you to beget life?

BTW, I do not mean by any means that a person shouldn't have children. Adoption is always an option. However, I can understand that alot of people want their own children.

Let me pose a question to those who say that abortion and in vitro fertilization are wrong because they're messing with god's plans. Isn't ALL medical care, then, also wrong? If a person becomes ill, isn't that a natural or god-caused illness? How can you draw the line and say that treating or curing a disease (diabetes or any other) is perfectly OK but utilizing other medical procedures is not OK and is sinful?

Just curious...

Go ahead and TRY to adopt. You will find that artificial insemination is easier and cheaper. Good luck with that. Maybe our governments are immoral by making it nearly impossible to adopt.

I do not believe that God intended for us to see a "life solution", then not permit us to make use of it. So it would seem with artificial insemination. When I review the 10 commandments and other laws in the Bible, I do not see how it can be wrong from a religious or spiritual basis.

This is a tough one.On one hand,i'd agree that its not natural, and if god intended infertility, the so be it. But thats easy 4 me to say because im a fertile young woman with a beautiful son.I cant even begin to imagine the pain a woman experiences who cant have children of her own.Maybe god doesnt deterine medical conditions, after all he gave us all free will, maybe environmental factors are more the issue.Would god really be so cruel as to curse a woman with infertility and leave her with strong matenal instincts, causing her to ache for the child she can never have. Maybe it was god will for us to discover artifical insemination and ivf etc, so that infertil people can have children. I could go on all day about this, but if a child is healthy and happy, with loving parents. surely how they were concieved shouldn't matter!!

i personally like the take that Reese Witherspoon took in Legally Blonde... If these are all cases then every ejaculatory emission can be considered reckless abandonment..lol

some people may be infertile by means beyond their control, in that case, i don't feel it's wrong.. I personally am a fan of adoption idea.

I think this is a really good point. I always wondered about those people who try for years to have a baby, fail, then turn to fertility treatments and say they've been blessed by God when they come up with 6 kids at one time.

In a catholic religious perspective, both are 'sinful'. However, it is not god who determine what is right or wrong, it is people who made these rules in the name of god. If you start your own religion, you can come up with new rules. The sky is the lmit on that.

God isn't the one who makes you imperfect or damaged. He doesn't make you get sick, or kill people in a car wreck. He loves us and wants us to live happy lives.

Killing babys is wrong.
Using the gift of technology to overcome a problem that results from living in a fallen world is good.

Yes, I would agree. Leave it to God. The Catholics believe that way. Natural family planning.
