If I say to my husband, "Lets have sex!", he gets upset. He says that I should say, "Let's make love" and that I just don't get it! Well... I personally have my own views about defining one against the other... but I'm curious to read what everyone else has to say!

Okay... I just have to add something...

TO ME...

"Making Love" is exactly what everyone is saying. You basically get lost in the moment (mind, body and soul). Like an unexplainable high.. intimate, sensual, soulful, mature.

"Having Sex" is pleasurable and you can do it with someone you love (like the hubby) To me... having "quickies" is not making love... or even if it lasts long... if it involves words like "Oh yeah baby F-me F me... THIS IS ALL MINE! I mean... I dunno to me is "Performing Sex".

So my point is... I don't think its "making love" everytime... even when it involves doing it with someone you love!

Making love is when you have sex but you do it cause you love them you respond to them with your heart and soul. You make love to their mind, fulfill their fantasies. Satisfy their body, mind, and soul. Where as performing sex is just satisfying your body physically. That's my opinion!!

Performing sex is simply going through the motions of the act with little or no emotional attachment or connection with your partner. You are just doing it to do it.

Making love is an almost spiritual connection where both of you are very involved in pleasing the other and expressing your love in the most intimate way possible.

"Performing Sex" is actually what it is "SEX". There is not alot of emotional attachement or connection. Its an sexual act where two people are having sex and exchanging bodily fluids.

"Making Love" Making love is when two people have a mutual connection where both of of them are involved in pleasing one another. While expressing thier love intimately, and passionately.

Hello Jinx, I agree with most of what you said. It's also true that almost everyone is going to have a different opinion on this.
Making love with my wife is sensual, kissing, touching caressing each other and both of us reaching orgasm at the same time with our eyes focused on each other.
Sex is something we plan, it's wild, dirty and outrageous fun!
We go out regularly on "date nights" and when we do we know that upon coming home it's going to be one wild ride!
Best of luck with your husband. He seems to be getting upset at something a bit to easily but then again, everyone is different.

Sex is what animals do without feeling or emotion, based on the need to "come"... making love is about an emotional bond and sharing of each other physically....

Some times my husband and I "make love" which is slow and passionate...then other times we have "sex" which is more wild and dirty. Just depends on our moods. You two need to define this for yourselves!

Making love is what you do with your wife. Having sex is what you do with her sister.
