The whole issue of it is the use of leftover stem cells in hopes of replacing weak, dead, or dying stem cells in the human body. Stem cells are, in a nutshell, the foundation of the cells. More roots than stems if you will. The idea is using healthy stem cells to replace decayed or corrupted stem cells, which could be a panacea to several illnesses, such as Lou Gehrig's, Parkinson, quadriplegia, cancer, Altzheimer's, and several others. The main places that stem cells are retrieved are embryos, umbilical cord blood, and adults.

The whole idea is to get rid of stem cell research, under the context that it is "against God". Under that pretense, victims of diabetes and cancer will be stuck with the far from full-proof treatments of today. ALS will continue to kill with little to no avail, and slowly but surely, Parkinson's and Altzheimers will render it's victims unconsious to the world around them. Stem cells may just be the fabled panacea that could cure almost anything, if not everything. But the Right won't allow that, 'cause it's ungodly.

Scientists believe that stem cells, which can be harvested from aborted fetuses, hold the key to unlocking cures to just about everything from cancer to heart disease to muscular dystrophy, the list goes on and on. People who are against stem-cell research aren't against the research itself; they're against the use of aborted fetuses for stem-cell research because they believe abortion is 100% dead wrong (pardon the pun).

Someone can, but not me. I just know the benefits could be massive but our religious right president thinks God will send him to hell if he approves it. I got news for him...he already has a reserved seat in Hell. One made of razor blades and fire and right next to Hitler.

I don't quite understand it either, but I know that its important research and it shouldn't be vetoed...
