I'm really not trying to be mean or offend anyone, I have respect for gays even though I don't believe in homosexuality. I have always wondered though, how come gay men always talk with that voice? You know that kind of feminine, lispy, soft, kind of voice? Just wondering. I know that not ALL gay men talk that way but the ones I have met do. Thanks!

That's what I said not ALL talk that way. And no, it's not a stereotype because the only gays who I have met talk that way. Are you saying that I have met only the minority?

We don't ALL talk like that. That is what is called a stereo type. I can assure you the ones that talk like that are a minority. Most of us you would not know we were gay by our voice alone.

If you have only met gay men with high voices, you need to get out more. There are plenty of straight men out there with higher voices too.

I have no idea where straight people think all these lispy gay men come from. I'm highly involved in gay life, politics, and culture in my town and I can name the lispy gay men I know one hand. Most of the gay men I know "look straight", whatever that means.

Well if you are running into the same type of gay men then you are obviously putting yourself in the same type of situations. I dont talk like that. Let me guess, the only gay men that you have met work at the mall. Yeah, I thought so. Try new things. Oh, and don't generalize so much. Everyone is different. AND homosexuality is not a belief, you don't have to believe it for it to be true. IT JUST IS, PEOPLE JUST ARE. You are a woman and you don't find me going around saying "I like women, I just don't believe in it." It is not a religion.

I would definitely say that you've met a minority; however, I have noticed that Middle Eastern men, and many Asian men as well, do present with that affect. Most Gay men in the US don't have the effeminate voice pattern you refer to.

I'm guessing that it is a cultural norm for a specific community of Gay people. In the Mideast for example, Gay men seem to be attracted to other Gay men who more closely conform to a very youthful appearance such as, no facial hair, soft spoken, and an overall feminine affect.

Another theory is that those who are effeminate in mannerisms have chosen that affect because it may be "expected" of them, especially in the US where it doesn't seem to be the norm.

We've allowed mainstream society to dictate so many aspects of our lives that it's become absurd. Fortunately, that is changing. And that may be what frightens many Breeders -- we are not who they thought us to be. In short, their bubble has burst and their party is over.

Best Wishes!

i've got by no potential heard of that occuring, yet many times in the event that they do circulate, they circulate throughout intermission. i've got been enjoying hockey for 19 years (i'm 23) and that i've got by no potential had to circulate to the washing room throughout a game, despite if if I did, i could do it during the intermission. on an component be conscious, I bear in mind 2 years in the past the flu trojan horse replace into going around the Sens locker room, and that they have been enjoying the Leafs and have been maximum advantageous 4-2 whilst gamers saved going to the locker room to throw up. They lost the game 5-4 in OT, so bathing room breaks can impression a collection lol

Gender bending is part of the effeminate subculture of the gay community. Don't like it Don't understand it. If I want a man I want a man like me not a nelly queen. Butt to each his own. I prefer my women soft and my men hard. Bisexuality is such a joy!
