What is a good job for me? I think retail is okay and have had at least 5 years expierience but i need to work full time and make at least $1200/month. Not many retail positions that pay that, i don't think. Would waitressing do? I have also been a nanny, but don't want to do that anymore. any suggestions?

I remember playing at a club/restaurant years ago called the Brown Derby in Tallahassee. Many of the waitresses there were college students, but I was amazed to find several that had degrees, including one with an M.B.A. So why were they waitressing? Their income was far greater than if they had gotten a job using their degree.

There is big dough in waitressing, but it does take a certain personality and a lot of hard work. I would give it a try in an upscale establishment, and see if it proves to be profitable. In many respects it is the ultimate sales position.

Good luck and God bless you!

I would try to do a combination of 2. If you have good nanny credentials you could actually make a lot of mony doing it if you could find the families. I would try www.chicago.craigslist.com and look for stuff. Retail is your worst bet but it will always be there as a backup. If you wanted to try waitressing start at a smaller place that has a bar and see if you could make your way up to bartender and go to a better place. Good Luck.
