I heard that if an illegal immigrant goes to any Emergency Room, they cannot be denied. So i am taking it that if they do this and run up an expensive hospital bill which they cannot pay...then they aren't really obligated to pay...right? Afterall, they don't have a credit history to be concerned about. They won't have credit bureaus after them, since technically they are un accounted for and aren't really here.

So with all that said...my question is:

Could an American citizen like me, just walk in a hospital, not give my real name and claim that i am an illegal immigrant to avoid paying a hefty hospital bill?

Also, in states that allow illegals to get driver's licenses...would it be possible for an American like me to get a '2nd' license under a name like Juan Lopez and just claim i am an undocumented Immigrant??

What are there penalties if caught? if so, are penalties harsh? is the government strict on this and what difference is pentaly for me vs illegal doing this?

That's a really good, meaningful question. Ur right! What if we all just walked into an Emergency Room, or DMV saying that we are illegal immigrants so we can get stuff for free. Well, I don't really think it's as easy as it sounds. The government knows if ur an illegal immigrant or a U.S. citizen, and businesses like that r connected to that kinda information. Especially the hospitals, I'm guessing. But if u were to somehow get caught then ur punishment would be pretty bad. I don't know how bad, but it would be bad. Just don't try it, caz it could have major consequences. :)

Emergency room treatment is available to anyone whether illegal immigrant or citizen. If you cannot afford to pay the bill, there are several funding sources available to you. You will not receive "healthcare" in an emergency room. You will receive emergency (i.e. life saving) treatment. There are clinics throughout the US that provide free or low-cost health services and medication to low-income people particularly for hypertension and diabetes or immunization for children from common childhood diseases.

In Michigan Middle Eastern women have been prosecuted for Medicaid fraud because during their pregnancy they claim indigence and then have welfare pay for the pregnancy. They do this over and over. There are around a half million people of Middle Eastern descent in the Metro Detroit area.

You really do not want to run afoul of Homeland Security. If you try getting a fraudulent driving license or other documents and you are caught you will be prosecuted regardless of your citizenship.

Excellent question, and you spell out a couple of scenarios very well here. Unfortunately, it points out a couple of situations that the Feds can't/won't address. And what that means is American citizens are going to pay for those that are here illegally. As an American citizen, if I can't afford my expensive hospital visit, legal action can be taken against me. However, if I am here illegally, after I get the expensive hosptial treatment, I can just disappear into the American background, or return to my native homeland. And the Fed go on, blah blah blah ............

As on your first question: certain. i comprehend a guy (a citizen, now) who, even as injured without insurance, went to the ER, lied about his call and manage, were given his remedy and left. voters are only as able to being dishonest as unlawful immigrants. For that count number, no man or woman may be grew to develop into away in an ER, no longer only unlawful immigrants. As to the drivers licenses or the consequences if stuck, I surely do no longer comprehend.

Becareful with declaring yourself an I-I because now many states are obligating hospitals and other agencies to report illegals even after treatment has been given. Deportation or Jail for free Medical care ? I don't think so.

dude, if you are not a citizen and want to get a license they still ask you for prove that you are who you say you are. they don't just ask for your name, take a picture and there, no.
