Ewww..lol.......I think it is just laziness!! Sounds to me that he doesnt want to get up and use the bathroom, and it would be more convenient to go where ever is necessary. You just need to be flat out honest and tell him that it is unsanitary and just plain sick.

I have a 15 year old stepson that has done similar things. I've found his urine in a cup in the bathroom before on several occasions. He only seems to do it while he's in the tub. I think it is because he is lazy and doesn't want to be bothered to get out of the tub. I still can't understand why he just doesn't use the toilet since he's already in the bathroom. I think it just comes down to pure laziness.

UMMMMM a teen is doing this???? Thats ummm a tad bit weird if u ask me! i have a 15 year old son and he has lazy moments but he always makes it to the bathroom to pee! I would totally sit and talk with him and find out why the heck he is doing this! Let him know- from this point on he uses the toilet! This can be contaminating his room as well. EWWWWW talk to him!!!

Laziness, half asleep & too lazy to go to toilet, I'd tell him if he doesn't stop doing this, you'll let his friends know about his habit, he may stop if you say that. Another thing I'd do, is not let him have anything to grink 2 hours before he goes to bed, like you do with a toddler potty training, no drinks in his room at all, be firm!

It's gross but I have done it too, it's a bit like the trying to suck your own dick thing. Every man has tried but few will admit to it. He may grwo out of it but probably only because social etiquitte dictates, In a pinch, if he wants to go too much and is too lazy he will pee in whatever.
Short answer, because he can

Have you talked to him? Could be laziness, could be you should Start with his Doctor and get his/her advice. Sounds like an attention getter, do you only go into his room every few weeks?
Try communicating with him, sounds like he has too much time alone.

Maybe he has friend who are taking drug tests. They may have been on drugs. He does not want them in trouble. In that case atleast you would know he ain't doing drugs.
Other wise he is just plain gross and lazy. He won't be knocking up some poor defenseless girl. No girls will go near him.

I have a friend whose brother had this problem too. Talk to your dr. It could be a phsychological issue, now don't freak out, but it would be better to get this dealth with now, than fo rhim to have to do it later on his own!
