I do not have a land line. I use my cellular because we have a family plan. I would like to have internet access at home through dial-up because I do not use the internet that often. I need it at the lowest price.

1) Dial up over POTS (plain old telephone service) is cheapest, averaging $7 - $10 per month.
2) Cable and satellite providers are VERY expensive, averaging $45 - $99 per month
3) Cellular connections are $60 per month and UP

So...
Your best bet is to seek out a public WiFi hotspot at either a free public location (like a local Library, School, or other public facility) or another pay-per-use WiFi access spot.

3 options, all more expensive than getting a phone line:

1. Cable companies offer Internet via the TV connection.

2. Satellite, you put up a dish and connect that way.

3. Mobile phone companies offer Internet connections as an add-on to your current service, you'll get some hardware for your computer to make it work.

Cheap Skate Solution (somewhat illegal) ask your neighbor if you can borrow their connection (offer to pay a share of the cost, and provide wireless router etc.) most Internet service providers disallow this in their contracts.

Happy surfing

Dial-up internet would require a land-line phone. If you check your model of CELL PHONE, you will probably discover that there is no adapter that will allow your computer to use it for dial-up purposes.

If you have the adapter and want to test this out, make that connection, then GO TO your PROGRAMS section and ACCESSORIES folder. Then Communications folder and pick PHONE DIALER. See if you can get it to work as a dialer. If this does not work for your CELL PHONE, then I am correct, and you would have to get a landline.

At that kind of price, you might as well get High Speed from your cable company.

Yes. Companies like Sprint offer plans over cellular but you'll need to buy a special card for your computer. Unlimited access might be $80 - $100 a month but they probably have other less expensive plans. Here's a link that's in-line with what I'm suggesting:

In order to have a dial-up connection you have to have a phone line running into your house. Whether you use it for just internet or actually have a phone number tied to it, that's up to you. But without a phone line - dial up is impossible.

There are other options such as DSL and Cable which may be feesable also.

Yes, Cable internet and sattellite internet.

Cable is probably the cheapest. It's super fast too. If you DID have a house phone you could get DSL which is still pretty fast, at $20 for a landline (no extras) and another $25 for the DSL it might be cheaper than cable still.

if you dont have a phone then there wont be any dial up
if want to get a phone so can use dial up
i suggest getting the slow dsl its much faster than dial up and it costs the same
you shouldnt have to pay more than $25 a month
you could also try to be sneaky if you want
get a wireless adapter and just grab someones signal
as long as they dont have it wep protected you could have free internet access
good luck

You can go cable or you can get a dry loop DSL connection from Verizon (if Verizon serves your area) but you can't have dial up with no phone. You need a phone to dial up, it just wouldn't work any other way.

You can always go cable if your cable company provides internet service.

And, yes you will need a landline for dial-up.

Using your cell-phone as a dialer will probably cost you a small fortune and be very slow.

You can't get dial-up without a phone...but you can get internet through your cable provider like Comcast without a phone. It's kinda pricey though...like $50 a month.....
