How fast or slow is 768Kbps compared to cable modem? How much faster is 1.5 Mbps, or 3.0 Mbps compared to 768Kbps?

If you are currently on cable modem, DSL will be unimaginably slow for you. If you are on dial-up, moving to even 768bps on DSL will seem lightning fast.

It really depends a lot on what you want to use your internet connection for. For websurfing and e-mail, 768Kbps is fine, as well as downloading of MP3s. For streaming video and anything that requires more bandwidth like VoIP you really need the faster speeds. For my purposes, the 768Kbps is fine.
