Try to go to your local library they should have plenty of books on Old Yeller. Very touching story about a boy who found a dog whom they had an incredible bond between them. Towards the end of the story Old Yeller got bit by an animal who had rabies and the dog contacted rabies. The boy had to shoot the dog before he got out of his pen and bit anyone. Good luck.
