Many teams surprised us this time round and exceeded what was expected of them. Even the established powers of football had to start somewhere. They are not born super sides, they are made and fostered over many years and tournaments to reach the level they are at today. Once these lesser known sides start to gather more International experience they will have their share of success.

None. They are getting better at handling the ball, but nobody is getting better at winning.6 of the 8 quarter finalist were ex-champions. The only one missing was Uruguay, who no longer even qualify.
