Sometimes medication is the only answer..It is hereditary

I like the way you post your facts... it shows you are knowledgeable about what you are doing and what you are putting into your body. Here are some suggestions / comments: 1) You may be gaining muscle. Have your body fat percentage measured. If the percentage is dropping (over time) it means you are replacing fat with muscle -- which is a good thing. To get your percentage measured, get an assessment from a trainer or buy a body fat measuring scale. You can always you your waist measurement / height ratio (see on some websites), but they can be inaccurate. 2) Be sure your workouts are intense enough. The treadmill may say you used 300 calories, but usually those devices are off. 3) You may be consuming too few calories and your body is hanging on to your fat. It all depends upon how intense your workouts are. You don't mention how many calories you are burning each day. 4) You may be overtraining. This causes stress, cortisol release, and slows your metabolism. Consider if this may be the case. I think you are on the right track. Your measurements certainly don't sound out of whack and you may be hypersensitive. Perhaps leave the scale alone and focus on what you see in the mirror. You may also be retaining water, hence the water weight in your belly. Watch your salt levels. Hopefully I hit on something.

Many people don't know it, but shellfish, in any form, is high in cholesterol. I know, you’re probably saying to yourself, "but its fish and fish are good for you". Buzz...WRONG ANSWER. Of course you know, any foods that are a byproduct of an animal, yes including yogurt, has cholesterol in them. Exercises helps, and try to get more dietary fiber in your diet and sources of good cholesterol, fish oils (omega-3 fatty acids). I've also heard that ground cinnamon helps to reduce cholesterol also. I usually put it in my herbal tea. I think it helps. The last time I had my cholesterol checked, the LDL was 190 and HDL was within normal range. My triglycerides too. Sorry about the spelling, but I don't have a medical dictionary in front of me right now. LOL. Good Luck.

I am going through the same thing. Medications seem to be helping me. But diet and exercise are a must in order for the medication to work.

In the same boat, had to see my doctor and use medication. I tried several before finding one that agreed with me. They do work, at 181 from 252 a year ago

To aviod medication, Try going Vegan, but discuss with doctor and nutritionist first, and research it well beforehand. Most folks find a step down approach works best.

YES!! GO VEGAN!! It's the best option, not only you're going to live a more compassionate life, but it will certainly low your cholesterol, it made my fathers cholesterol perfect and it still is!

It can be hereditary as well. Talk to your doctor if it gets high enough there are Rx's for that problem that have been proven to help.:-)

it sounds like your doc has tested it so ask him about the numerous prescription medications like zocor and crestor that are available.....most people find these work really well with very few side affects
